[FFTV] Inspired by the path of ceramics, we also aspire to soar together! Guizhou Tuoyuan visited the Functional Ceramics Laboratory at Guizhou University, jointly embarking on a new journey of industry-academia-research collaboration!

On October 14, 2025, Mr. Peng, General Manager of Guizhou Tuoyuan Sensitive Component Co., Ltd., along with his core team, visited our institute specifically to tour the Functional Ceramic Materials and Devices Laboratory, led by Associate Professor Zeng Fangfang from the School of Big Data and Information Engineering. The purpose of this visit was to gain a deeper understanding of our institute’s progress in both fundamental research and application development of functional ceramic materials, and to jointly explore new avenues for deepened cooperation between academia and industry. Guided warmly by Associate Professor Zeng Fangfang and her team members, Mr. Peng and his delegation first arrived at the laboratory’s location in the Boxue Building on the East Campus.

In the golden autumn of October, ripe fruits hang heavy on the branches.

The purpose of this visit was to gain an in-depth understanding of our institute’s progress in both fundamental research and application development of functional ceramic materials, and to jointly explore new avenues for deepened cooperation between academia and industry. Guided warmly by Associate Professor Zeng Fangfang and her team members, Mr. Peng and his delegation first arrived at the laboratory’s location in the Boxue Building on the East Campus.

The first stop was the graduate student studio of Associate Professor Zeng Fangfang’s research team: In this academically vibrant workspace, the graduate students were deeply immersed in their respective research projects. Mr. Peng and his delegation listened with great interest as the students presented their interim findings on topics such as the design of functional ceramic materials and computational simulations. They expressed admiration for the students’ solid professional competence and spirit of exploration.

Next, the group visited the ferroelectric instrument laboratory adjacent to the studio. The lab is equipped with advanced testing systems for ferroelectric and dielectric properties. Associate Professor Zeng Fangfang gave a detailed introduction to the lab’s capabilities in characterizing the performance of functional ceramic materials such as ferroelectrics, piezoelectrics, and pyroelectrics, as well as the critical importance of these key parameters for the development of sensitive components. General Peng carefully observed the operation of the equipment and frequently nodded in agreement.

On the second stop of their itinerary, President Peng and his delegation drove to Chongli Building—the main hub of the college located on the West Campus. Here, Associate Professor Zeng Fangfang highlighted the college’s advanced, large-scale precision analytical instruments, including the scanning electron microscope (SEM) and the X-ray diffractometer (XRD). She provided a detailed explanation of these instruments’ irreplaceable role in analyzing the microstructure of materials and identifying material phases, as well as how they provide robust support for research into the relationship among composition, structure, and properties of functional ceramic materials. President Peng and his delegation closely observed the operation of these cutting-edge, high-precision instruments and expressed high appreciation for the college’s state-of-the-art research facilities.
